An initiative, a sort of contribution to the magazine :))

It was cloudy in the twentieth of August, yet it didn’t stop us to get out of our comfort zones and still headed to Pampanga... The trip on our way to Pampanga gave me nostalgia, I remember fieldtrip during high school and elementary, since the immersion resembles fieldtrips; the students brought pack lunches, and snacks, and with great emphasis we were riding in a bus... However, fieldtrip during high school could amuse you, expose you in different places you’ve never been, but it’s lacking of hands on experience... Furthermore, what we experienced in the twentieth of August was a life changing experience. The lessons we have acquired brought our life from different perspectives and realized few things... That planting rice is a laborious process, and we shouldn’t waste a single grain of rice, because it is made by the most hardworking people, the farmers...

Imagine how the farmers withstand the heat just to be able to create the most essential carbohydrate. Imagine how the farmers resist the uncomfortable position while planting... And so Scholasticans pluck up the courage to submerge in the rice field to plant rice..Though facial expressions of the Scholasticans were consumed with misery while surpassing in the muddy rice field, Scholasticans build some sort of a bonding, for a reason that each was helping hand in hand to reach the rice plantation. In the end, the reluctance and the deafening reactions while surpassing the muddy rice field turned into a happy experience. A sense of fulfilment will haunt you when you see the empty plantation, filled with bunch of grains.

After the planting, we headed to our host families to freshen up and to socialize as well. We would like to acknowledge the warm accommodation of the family and gave us a chance to know them. When we wave goodbye to the families, the indescribable joy was evidently swelling on their faces, and so we were.
When we reach Manila, we brought a novel of experience during the immersion. We brought another memory that will be a contribution in the vibrant color of college life. The experience we had will be perfectly imprinted in our hearts.
